Boost/Boon Advertising...

Pixel Based Advertising (PBA) has become difficult to maintain, especially with mobile devices and ability to zoom on a whim. I still want to offer people a way to advertise, but I do not think PBA offers the same flare it did back in 2005 with the Million Dollar Homepage. Another bad thing about that style of advertising is it doesn't weed out the sites that die over time.

This time around we are going to have a different approach, one that encourages advertisers to engage more with their audience. This time around is a first come, first serve, but you still have the ability to maintain a top level advertising spot. On the desktop you will have the ability to have one of 4 top-bar visible spots, or your advertisement added at the bottom of the list.

$1.00/Day. That is it. You make a payment on your ad through your own portal account here and you will get 1 day of visibility for each dollar to start you off.

Now this is where it gets interesting: No one knows what others have paid. It is possible to be 100 places down the list and in a few days end up in the top 4. Additionally, people will have the ability to remove time for ads. This option is more spendy, at $1/6Hours. 25% of this gets added towards the original member's account to use for future purchases, or once the original member reaches a balance of $20 or more, they can request a check or paypal transfer. Either way this comes out to the member at least getting refunded for their purchase on 1-to-1 basis.

Members also have the option to boost other's ads, and MAKE money. Same rules apply as booning someone's ad, and same benefits to the original ad poster's account is applied.

Please Pardon the Dust
Eventually, my site will contain the ability for users to log-in, check their account status, and make requests... all from within my site. However... right now, between courses to expand my horizon into Energy Management and Digital Controls Logic and Making Renovations on my house in Eugene, as well as the occasional update for clients... the design for my own site has taken a back-seat role.
